Michael Bolton is a Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter known for his powerful voice and emotional ballads. He began his career in the 1970s as a member of the band Blackjack, but achieved widespread success as a solo artist in the 1980s and 1990s with hits such as "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You," "When a Man Loves a Woman," and "Said I Loved You...But I Lied." Bolton was born on February 26, 1953, in New Haven, Connecticut. He started singing at a young age and began performing in local bands while still in high school. In the late 1970s, he joined the band Blackjack, which released two albums and had some success with the single "Without Your Love."

In the 1980s, Bolton began his solo career and released his first album, "Michael Bolton," in 1983. He gained popularity with his soulful ballads and powerful voice, and his next several albums, including "Everybody's Crazy" (1985), "The Hunger" (1987), and "Soul Provider" (1989), all achieved platinum status. Throughout the 1990s, Bolton continued to release successful albums and singles, collaborating with artists such as Wynonna Judd and Babyface. He has sold more than 75 million records worldwide and won multiple Grammy Awards, including Best Male Pop Vocal Performance for "When a Man Loves a Woman" in 1992.

In addition to his music career, Bolton has also acted in a number of films and television shows, including "The Naked Gun 2½: The Smell of Fear," "Spy Hard," and "Two and a Half Men." He has also been involved in various charitable causes, including the Michael Bolton Charities, which supports children and women in need.
